Montreal has a large Haitian community – cited in recent weeks as anywhere between 90,000 and 120,000 people – and has such longtime connections with Haiti that the January 12 earthquake has had effects on many people here.

While doing the Montreal City Weblog I realized there were a lot of resources growing up, too many to list on the blog: lists of places to donate, benefit events, links to aid the search for missing family and friends.

If something is missing or you notice a mistake, please email me.

Benefit events and fund-raisers

Agenda Public has an ongoing list of fundraising events and a list of organizations making collections.

Some of the events for Black History Month will be dedicated to Haiti relief efforts.
